From Traditional Teaching to Digital Facilitation : The Evolving Role of University Professors in E-Learning Environments

Abstract

This theoretical intervention aims to highlight the evolving roles of university professors in light of the shift towards e-learning as a present and future alternative to traditional in-person education. It also seeks to understand the role of e-learning in achieving quality higher education, a key consequence of the information revolution and its impact on teaching methods, curricula, and courses. This has necessitated fundamental changes in the quality of education and the roles of university professors to meet the demands of this transformation, driven by the widespread adoption of modern technologies. The goal is to achieve quality in the educational process. In the same vein, we will highlight the most significant challenges facing university professors, stemming from the inherent challenges of e-learning itself. We will address these challenges in detail.
